Present perfect progressive

El present perfect progressive  se usa para hablar de una acción que empezó en el pasado y que continúa en el presente.

FORMACIÓN DEL PRESENT PERFECT PROGRESSIVE

El present perfect progressive se forma con el verbo to have  en presente más el participio been y un gerundio.

Ejemplos con el present perfect progressive.

I have been living here for one month. Llevo un mes viviendo aquí.

You have been talking on the phone for half an hour. Llevas media hora hablando por teléfono.

Formas contraídas

Es muy común usar las formas contraídas de to have con the present perfect progressive. Estas formas se ven en la tabla a continuación.

I’ve	I’ve been working for five hours.	Llevo cinco horas trabajando.
you’ve	You’ve been sleeping all day.	Llevas todo el día dormida.
he’s	He’s been snoring for hours.	Lleva horas roncando.
she’s	She’s been running since seven in the morning.	Ha estado corriendo desde las siete de la mañana.
it’s	It’s been raining for an hour in Puebla.	Lleva una hora lloviendo en Puebla.
we’ve	Lately, we’ve been talking on the phone a lot.	Últimamente, hablamos mucho por teléfono.
they’ve	They’ve been playing soccer for two hours.	Llevan dos horas jugando

Formas negativas

the present perfect progressive en forma negativa. Simplemente usas la palabra not  después de la forma conjugada del verbo to have.

Fórmula para la forma negativa

have not / has not + been + gerundio

Es muy común ver las formas contraídas haven’t  y hasn’t  usadas con the present perfect progressive.

 EJEMPLOS.

I haven’t been eating out much lately. No he estado comiendo mucho fuera en estos días.

We haven’t been talking since we broke up. No nos hemos hablado por teléfono desde que rompimos.

Formas interrogativas

Para hacer preguntas usando the present perfect progressive, hay que invertir el sujeto y la forma conjugada de to have. Comparemos la forma afirmativa con la forma interrogativa.
